It is all natural materials! This funerary jacket is made from silk and hemp.
This jacket brings together elegance with simplicity: the standing collar (notice the design on the collar), the silk handmade pankou knots, and the silk hems on the raw edges in the interior.
For the paj ntaub, the silk fabric is soaked in rice water to stiffen the fabric in order to make the reverse applique cuts for the qwj without fraying the fabric. A complete set of qwj (4 qwj total, also called ib raus) takes about 12 hours to finish. The triangle designs on the paj ntaub qwj is sewn with silk thread: green and blue dyed in indigo varied times and purple dyed in teak leaves.
