This funerary jacket brings together heritage with modernity. We update the traditional HMong jacket sewing pattern by customizing the armscye to fit arms/shouldes better. We also altered the back of the neckline from a straight cut into a cut that hugs the back of the neck. The jacket can be fastened with our custom made pankou knots! Finally, we sew the raw edge of the dab tshos to into the shoulder seam-- it is a modern take on the dangling dab tshos!
The little details matter! Indigo-dyed silk bound hems are sewn to the arm and armpit inseams as well as the hem running along the center back of the jacket.
Don't forget the beautiful paj ntaub mos-- all hand sewn, taking over 400 hours of work.
